Samantha M. Oliveira came to SDV as a Summer Associate. She stayed on as a Law Clerk and returned to the firm as an Associate following law school. Samantha worked in the insurance industry while working towards her Bachelor's Degree, making her a natural addition to our team.
In her time with SDV, Samantha has represented clients in litigation, including extensive discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations. She has helped clients recover on their insurance claims under a variety of policies, including commercial general liability, commercial property, and homeowners' policies. In addition to her litigation practice, Samantha also performs contract and insurance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual insurance requirements and enhance risk transfer language. Samantha is a member of the firm's Natural Disaster Recovery Practice Group.
While in law school, Samantha was Secretary of the Women's Law Society and Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association and was an active member of the Society for Dispute Resolution. She graduated with concentrations, with honors, in both civil advocacy and dispute resolution and family and juvenile law. She also completed internships with the Children's Law Center and the Office of the Attorney General, Child Protection Division.
Samantha has spent most of her life as an avid volunteer for the Special Olympics. She currently resides in Beacon Falls, Connecticut, with her husband, daughter, and dog.
