Celia B. Waters (nee Keniry) focuses her practice on complex insurance litigation matters, with an emphasis on power, oil and energy, and has handled a number of complicated Builders Risk coverage disputes with respect to large construction projects and central utility plants across the country. She was also involved in professional liability coverage disputes for design-build projects located at propane dehydrogenation and hydrocracking plants in the Middle East.
Prior to law school, Celia earned a B.A. with a double major in Political Science and Sociology and a minor in International Studies, while earning a paralegal certificate at the same time. She worked as a paralegal for a year before attending law school, where she was the Symposium Editor of the Public Interest Law Journal. After taking a number of insurance law classes, Celia focused her career on this area of law and has completed her LL.M. in Insurance Law at the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2019.
Celia speaks with some regularity at conferences on insurance coverage topics and was selected as a New England Super Lawyers' Rising Star in 2017-2019. Celia also works with Lawyers for Children America by providing pro bono legal representation to protect the rights of children who are victims of abuse and neglect. She resides with her husband and son in Woodbridge, Connecticut.
