Stella Szantova Giordano focuses her practice on risk transfer issues and
advising clients on a variety of insurance coverage matters. In addition to
being a member of the firm's Risk Transfer Group, Stella is an active member
of its International Group, frequently speaking and writing on topics affecting international insurance markets, with a particular focus on GDPR and other international data privacy laws and regulations and their interaction with cyber insurance. She serves as a contributing editor for IRMI Canada on case law updates concerning Canadian insurance coverage issues, and a Content Editor for substantive content produced by SDV attorneys.

While in law school, Stella served on the Law Review and was an extern at an
international consumer goods manufacturer where she negotiated and drafted
procurement contracts. In 2016, she was a member of the Executive Committee
of HYPE (Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs) and served as the
vice-chair of its Community Involvement Committee. She is currently actively
involved in the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity, serving as a mentor to law school students, and is a member of the Education Committee of the Construction Institute in Hartford, CT.
Stella has recently represented a project owner and a general contractor in two large builder's risk claims involving multi-million dollar property damage. She is currently working on obtaining additional insured coverage for a general contractor of a large construction project involving multi-level litigation in state and federal court and over twenty insurance carriers.

Born in Bratislava, Slovakia, Stella came to the United States in 2000 after
completing her graduate studies in her native country. In addition to fluent
English, she speaks Slovakian, Czech, Russian, German and recently started
learning Spanish.
