Shakira Gray oversees the firm’s Attorney Development efforts, which includes bar admissions, CLE credits and other educational initiatives. She is also responsible for the firm’s successful Summer Associate Program, which has included more participants in each of the last few years and continues to grow.
Q: Where are you from? (born/grew up)
A. Bridgeport, CT
Q: What is your favorite part of being a part of the SDV team?
A. I love that we are a tightknit community and how we step in and help each other in times of need. I like that we do not hesitate to celebrate one another’s life milestones (birthdays, weddings, new babies etc.).
Q: Name one thing on your bucket list.
A. Traveling the world with my significant other.
Q: Greatest accomplishment?
A. Finishing undergrad.
Q: If you could hang out with anyone for a day, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
A. My late grandmother, Elaine Stroman, because she is still the best person I’ve ever encountered.
Q: If you could pick one thing to change in the world, what would it be?
A. I would make everyone in the world a bit more understanding and sympathetic to one another.
Q: If you could, what would you tell yourself in high school?
A. Don’t let anyone make you feel less than.
Q: What are you most grateful for?
A. The time that I shared with my late grandmother.
Q: If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and why?
A. Probably time travel. Not to change anything, but to go back and relive certain experiences. I would fast-forward 5 years and see where I am/what I’m doing.

A. Speak another language. (Spanish first, then others)
