Janeen M. Thomas has dedicated her decades long legal career to working in the insurance industry, advising and representing insurers on complex coverage issues throughout the nation. As a resident of SDV’s Northeast office, Janeen uses her over 20 years in the insurance industry to solely advocate on behalf of policyholders in complex coverage disputes against insurance carriers. She deals daily with high exposure events and coverage litigation stemming from such events. She has extensive experience with a national insurance coverage practice that focuses on liability and property damage matters, including claim coverage matters within the real estate and construction industries, particularly with respect to claims and litigated disputes involving professional liability, commercial general liability, bad faith, builder's risk, additional insured coverage, and contractual indemnity.
Before joining SDV, Janeen was a partner in a large national law firm, where she developed an active litigation practice, handling matters from inception to litigation and appeal. She also researched and prepared coverage opinion letters, developed litigation strategies for complex claims with a focus on contract analysis, insurance coverage, and commercial disputes. Janeen was also active in defending insurers in regulatory proceedings before state agencies.
In her free time, Janeen is a music and arts enthusiast, and a Suzuki trained violinist. She also enjoys serving others through church ministry.
