Stacy M. Manobianca is a highly experienced litigator with a national reputation for tenaciously advocating on behalf of policyholders in complex coverage disputes against insurance carriers. She is responsible for high value, multi-faceted matters involving builder's risk, commercial general liability, and professional liability policies, and is experienced in pursuing claims against insurers for bad faith. In addition to her active litigation practice, Stacy frequently assists clients in developing their risk transfer strategy, evaluating contract and insurance policy language to both ensure favorable terms and identify areas of loss exposure that requires coverage.
Stacy’s prior litigation experience representing builders, condominium associations, and manufacturers, coupled with her experience working for an insurer, provides her with a unique perspective in pursuing insurance coverage on behalf of policyholders. Prior to coming to SDV, Stacy represented builders and condominium associations in varied construction defect litigation, and manufacturers of automobiles and consumer products in complex product liability and personal injury suits. She also worked as a Senior Complex Analyst for a large insurer, analyzing insurance coverage, liability, and damages in professional liability healthcare claims.
Representative matters that demonstrate Stacy’s ability to deliver favorable results for policyholders include:
- Obtaining partial summary judgment on a duty to defend along with a substantial award of attorney’s fees to be paid by the insurer
- Securing a multi-million-dollar settlement on behalf of a large developer in an insurance dispute arising out of the insurers’ failure to pay on a delay damages claim involving a catastrophic fire
- Obtaining a multi-million-dollar settlement on behalf of a full-service utility construction firm in a complex business risk exclusion dispute over a damaged natural gas pipeline
Stacy is a resident of SDV's Northeast office in New Jersey and serves as a mentor to junior attorneys and staff. Stacy is often asked to speak at seminars and conferences on topics relating to the intersection of insurance and construction law. She was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star each year from 2011-2017.
Stacy currently resides in Hunterdon County, New Jersey with her husband and their twin children.
