K. Alexandra O'Neill (nee Byrd) represents policyholders in complex insurance litigation, focusing on corporate directors and officers liability claims. Alex is experienced in arbitration and mediation and has negotiated and secured insurance coverage for clients subject to federal and state government investigations. She also assists clients in assessing their insurance programs and risk transfer strategy, drafting policy language, analyzing coverage for claims, and securing coverage pre-litigation. In addition, Alex routinely issues coverage opinions relating to general liability, directors and officers, commercial auto, motor carrier liability, excess, and umbrella policies.

While in law school, Alex served as the Business Managing Editor of the Quinnipiac Law Review and was the recipient of several academic and trial advocacy awards. She was a volunteer with Connecticut Legal Services and was an extern for the Hon. Holly B. Fitzsimmons of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and was an active member of the mock trial and alternate dispute resolution societies. Alex was selected as a New England Super Lawyers' Rising Star in 2021.
