Capital Improvements – Insurance and Risk Transfer for Catastrophic Events
This session will provide an overview of the complexities of insurance and risk transfer following a catastrophic event, using the FIU bridge and New Orleans hotel collapse events as case studies. The presenter will provide insight into how catastrophic claims are different and review the roles and interests of the multiple stakeholders impacted by the event. The session will address crisis response, litigation and contractual concerns, and insurance claim management.
