SDV is committed to advancing diversity and inclusion within our firm, and we are proud to be among the law firms and legal departments in the state of Connecticut to sign the Connecticut Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Pledge and Plan.
Traditionally, diversity referred to visible factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion and disability. Today, the concept has expanded to include characteristics such as cultural and socioeconomic background, sexual orientation and political beliefs. We at SDV respect the diversity of all individuals and strive to create an environment that highlights and promotes the collective value of our differences. We recognize that our firm is stronger, more effective and more capable of meeting the needs of our clients and business interests when we embrace diversity and inclusion.
To that end, SDV has implemented diversity initiatives in the areas of recruitment, compensation and benefits, professional development and business. SDV has also formed a Diversity & Inclusion Committee charged with ensuring that the firm meets its ideal goals and benchmarks in this respect and will continue its committment to providing a work environment that encourages mutual respect and is free of harassment, discrimination and bias.
